This Privacy Policy explains how Alavna LLC (“Alavna,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit alavna.com or use the Alavna USMLE mobile and web applications (collectively, the “Service”). Alavna LLC is a limited liability company registered in the State of North Carolina, USA, and based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the Service:

• Waitlist email address. If you submit the waitlist form on alavna.com, we store the email address you provide so we can notify you when Alavna USMLE launches.
• Usage and device information. When you visit the website or use the app, we collect standard analytics such as page views, session timing, approximate region-level location, device type, and browser. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
• Account information (once the app launches). If you create an account in Alavna USMLE, we will store the email address and authentication credentials you provide, along with a record of your study progress so the app can personalize your experience.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The Service is intended for adult medical students.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To notify you about the launch of Alavna USMLE and significant product updates (waitlist subscribers only; you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To understand how the Service is used so we can improve content and features.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, or security issues.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only with the following categories of service providers, and only to the extent necessary for them to help us run the Service:

• Hosting and application infrastructure: Google Firebase (Google LLC) — hosting, authentication, backend functions, App Check attestation.
• Analytics: Google Analytics (Google LLC) — aggregated usage statistics.
• Content delivery and security: Cloudflare, Inc. — CDN and bot protection for alavna.com.

These providers act on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect the information they process.

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Alavna, our users, or others.

4. Your Rights

You can contact us at info@alavna.com to:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete your information.
• Unsubscribe from the waitlist or other marketing emails.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

Residents of the European Union, United Kingdom, California, and other jurisdictions with data-protection laws have additional rights under those laws (including GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA). We honor those rights.

5. Data Retention

We keep waitlist email addresses until Alavna USMLE launches and for a reasonable period thereafter so we can notify you. You can request deletion at any time. Account data will be retained while an account is active and deleted within a reasonable period after closure or a deletion request.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect information — encryption in transit (TLS), authenticated backend access, and App Check attestation for production traffic. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk.

7. International Transfers

Alavna LLC is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or in other countries where our service providers operate.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” above and, for significant changes, provide notice through the Service. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
